How we met:
We met while attending the singles ministry class at First Baptist Church of Oviedo.  We were friends for about a year and a half, and during that time we both went on a mission trip to Camp Grace in Fairmont, NC.  After that first trip to Camp Grace, we would see each other occasionally at class fellowships.  It wasn’t until just before our second annual Camp Grace Mission trip that we finally realized how much we had in common….

Her story:
In March of 2006 I was busy getting ready for a two week mission trip to the Dominican Republic.  I was also helping to plan the upcoming trip back to Camp Grace.  During this time, Brian and I began to talk more during class and fellowships.  Our little group of friends would meet each week at Border’s for coffee and often I found myself wanting to talk with him, and he showed me how sweet he was by helping me with my projects for my students as well as editing my video from my DR trip.  I began asking God, “What is this?  I can’t stop thinking about him!”.  As we planned to go back to Camp Grace, we began talking more and more.  When we arrived, we kept being put together on projects and I loved working with him.  I found myself praying that God would help me figure out how I felt for this man that I had known for so long.  That Saturday night, around a campfire that never lit, we both learned that we had been praying the same things!  About a week later, we went on our first official date to Cornerstone Florida.  The rest, as we say, is history!

His story:
It all really started in 2005. I had graduated from college and had started attending a new young adult class at church. That’s where I started to get to know Colleen. Then, as she was preparing to go to the Dominican Republic for the second time, I started to realize that there was something special about her.

After she got back, I invited her to go to a movie with some friends of mine. Despite her being sick from the trip, we had a good time. I dropped her off at her apartment and stopped inside for a few minutes and her cats started to guard the door. Even they knew something was going on.

A couple of weeks later, we were headed to Camp Grace in North Carolina on what has become an annual service project. Somehow, I ended up riding in the same car as Colleen, I think that was planned ;) . We had a great ride up to camp and somehow, we seemed to be working on all the same projects. Finally, on the last night, I knew that there was something more than just a great friendship between us. So, around the campfire that would not light, we talked about where we saw our relationship going. The following week, I took her to the Cornerstone Festival at the Central Florida Fair Grounds. After our first date, we made it official, we were dating.
